Certain medical conditions (Diabetes with hypoglycemic meds, Coronary Heart Disease) may require further evaluation by the FAA under a Special Issuance (SI). If the FAA does grant a Special Issuance, your AME can re-issue your certificate under AME Assisted Special Issuance (AASI). You will need to provide the SI along with any criteria that is required for that AASI.
